The Team
-
Julie Rymer - co-founder / developer
Having started working in IT development in 2016, I quickly took on the technical direction of various projects entrusted to me throughout my career, including 2.5 years as a CTO.
In addition to acquiring purely technical skills (development, software architecture, pipeline automation, etc.), I faced all the challenges inherent in project management: planning, managing vendors, lack of documented processes, arbitration, … from which I have learned lessons and understood the importance of a solid methodology.
-
Paul Guichon - co-founder / developer
Since my beginnings in 2008, I have constantly sought to elevate my skills, moving from developer to service manager in 2012, then to IT director in a public service institution, and later as deputy IT director at Paris 8 University. These experiences have prepared me for the challenges of CIO/CTO roles in different companies, where I have honed my expertise in project management, risk assessment, and programming.
Throughout this journey, I have closely collaborated with leaders on a variety of projects, which has allowed me to refine and apply optimal strategies to ensure the success of the undertaken projects.
-
Gaëtan Gousseaud - developer
Since 2017, I have had the opportunity to work in various fields of IT within different companies: Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and Systems.
I have seen development from all its angles, which allows me to identify the needs and limitations of each aspect.
The human aspect of a team is also crucial to me. At BIRU, I have found everything I am looking for: Trust, transparency, and kindness. These are qualities that, in my opinion, every company should seek in their service providers for long-term sustainability, both in the quality of the product and in their daily interactions with them.
-
Michel Srouji - developer
Since 2016, I've worked in environments ranging from startups to large companies, in a variety of roles: full-stack developer, devops engineer, tech lead, etc. Product misunderstandings, unrealistic demands, and unclear business value were recurrent, which gave me a solid understanding of IT project conception.
Having joined Biru, I’m part of a team that shares my philosophy on work and project management. I now have the freedom to contribute to every aspect of a project without the need to justify my role, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the work I’m passionate about.
-
Émeline Gaube - developer
Front-End Developer since 2017, I have mainly worked for young startups. I have thus participated in the birth of several web applications, which exposed me early to issues related to technology choices or code architecture. I have developed complete Design Systems, from their very first components.
These startup experiences have also taught me that poor methodology can significantly delay a project or even lead to its premature end. It was the rigorous approach of Paul and Julie that convinced me to join them at Biru.
-
David Lemarchand- product designer
After a double EMLyon/Centrale Lyon master's degree dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship and design thinking in 2018, I specialised in collective intelligence facilitation, service design and transformation coaching.
I have coached entrepreneurs, organisations and teams to unleash their superpowers by enabling them to align, identify the real problems and imagine the right solutions, decide effectively and know what to measure to ensure impact. Passionate about learning, I strive to create frameworks conducive to collective skills development.

The story of the Company
One observation that has been omnipresent in our various experiences is that IT project development is both a costly and risky investment. We have seen the failure of many projects because the initial need was poorly identified, unforeseen complexities emerged too late, or adoption difficulties were underestimated.
In addition to these difficulties, the success of an IT project depends on the quality and commitment of the personnel responsible for its execution. However, key positions required, such as developers, product owners, or UX designers, are particularly difficult to recruit in a very competitive and tight context. The market is flooded with poorly trained candidates (bootcamps, etc.) and companies struggle to attract qualified profiles, which are much rarer and in higher demand. In this context, candidates are becoming increasingly demanding about their selection criteria, favoring advantageous working conditions as much as the salary.
From all these issues arose the desire to create a company that would address them through two complementary strategies.
A customer support strategy through close collaboration
We want to offer our client companies:
- An end-to-end support for their project by a seasoned, multidisciplinary, and already operational team.
- A breakdown of projects according to a methodology validated by our experiences, consisting of incremental study phases before starting any development.
An attractive HR policy
To build these qualified teams, we analyzed the selection criteria and reasons for resignation of experienced profiles. That’s why we address our employees’ expectations by making the following commitments:
- Inclusive environment.
- Collegial decision-making.
- Respect for labor law (this should be obvious, but in practice, there are many abuses…).
- Fair distribution of the fruits of their labor by directly involving employees in the company's profits.
- Investment in the personal development of the employee.
- Transparency.
In light of all these requirements, the SCOP status naturally became obvious to us.
Thanks to its legislative framework, this status allows us to offer solid guarantees regarding the workplace kindness values we wish to promote. It also supports our desire to co-construct a secure and rewarding work environment for our employees, guaranteeing them attentive listening.
Our values
What is a SCOP?
A SCOP, or Société Coopérative et Participative (formerly Société Coopérative de Production), is a form of traditional company (SA, SAS, or SARL) enhanced by cooperative status. This status guarantees:
In return for this operating mode, tax benefits are granted.
